Sideshow Collectibles and Legacy Effects are proud to bring you the Iron Man Mark III Half-Scale Maquette from the blockbuster Iron Man film. Sideshow’s team collaborated with Legacy Effects to create this incredible half-scale maquette, which was used to develop the original screen-used costume, capturing the awesome detail of Iron Man’s legendary armor. Each piece is individually painted and finished, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. Standing approximately 40 inches high, the maquette is crafted of polystone, fiberglass, metal and other materials to best recreate the Iron Man armor as authentically as possible. LED light-up eyes and heart add incredible realism, powered by the supplied power cord and wall plug (U.S. only) (battery operated function TBD). The Iron Man Mark III Half-Scale Maquette is the ultimate Iron Man collectible, and sure to be the centerpiece of your display.

The action continues with Preview night tonight, and that means the first photos of the show are starting to roll in all over the web!  TONS of pictures and new galleries are being set up as people rush to be the first to post some of the most anticipated pieces of the con.  Here’s a couple of awesome shots I’ve found along with some nice galleries you should keep an eye on!  By the way, we’ve got some preliminary pricing… apparently the Iron Man Mark III Maquette will retail at $2000 with a deposit due next week, and Vader will be at $1200 for the regular and $1250 for the exclusive edition, and the exclusive includes an extra stand for the helmet.

This is the first photo I saw of the AvPR Life-Size Predalien bust coming out from Sideshow and ADI and it was found in the www.comingsoon.net SDCC gallery, which you can visit by clicking HERE!  You can check out the high res version of the Predalien photo directly by clicking HERE!

And here’s the FIRST pic of the Cinemaquette Superman piece!  Definitely need more face shots to see how the likeness looks, but initial impressions are good…

The other set of pics I found were of the new Sideshow Darth Vader bust, which is taken from a pile of angles so you get a great look at the entire piece with the helmet on or off.

As we all suspected, the intiial SDCC teaser video did indeed show off an upcoming Darth Vader life-size bust that looks AMAZING!  He seems to have all separate parts, so you can remove the helmet top and the mask section to reveal Vader’s human head.  There appears to be a regular and exclusive version, but so far no one seems to know what the exclusive feature may be.

Yeah, can we all say BADASS?!  Wow.. absolutely awesome a MUST have from Sideshow, this is probably their best Star Wars piece to date and will be AMAZING if they can follow through on the finishing and painting of the piece.  I guess time will tell…  no price yet either, that’s scaring me a bit.  Check out the preview page and video by clicking HERE!

Sideshow has just updated their SDCC 2009 main coverage page with product announcements, chat, cams and TONS more!  Sideshow always has AMAZING SDCC 2009 coverage (hence why you see mostly updates about them) and this year they are going all out!  Here’s a rundown of what’s been added in the last few hours!

First off, click here to visit the main Sideshow SDCC 2009 Coverage page… this is the main portal for everything happening on the show floor as far as Sideshow is concerned.  You will find absolutely everything here about the show and it’s updates constantly with new tidbits.

The one thing that is REALLY fun to follow is the Interactive Booth Map that is posted.  The booth map shows the locations of all the items being displayed at the show as well as webcams and other stations.  As the show progresses, each area of the map becomes clickable and you can view behind the scenes videos, product information and place orders as they become available.  You pretty much have to check it all the time to catch when new videos and announcements are up, plus some items are not revealed until later in to the show.

In addition, Sideshow has ALSO posted a list of products that will be at the show, including a ton of previews of products that will be announced and available for pre-order at the show!  Please click HERE to see the list of products being featured at the SDCC booth!  Please bear in mind that the list is NOT complete and Sideshow will add some surprises to the list later on in to the show… Sideshow LOVE to put on a good show!  Here is just a few of the exciting Previews that have been posted and will become available for pre-order later on this week:

Hey guys and gals! Sideshow has just posted their SDCC 2009 booth schedule for the show including a PDF download for anyone attending the show and would like to print out a copy.

Now we just have to wait for the infmaous booth map, which should be posted any time today or tomorrow morning! Sideshow seems to having a great time, they just posted some hilarious shots of Scott prepping the goodies for the trip to SDCC, and one in particular makes me tingly all over… it’s the box of the Predalien Bust, which looks to be ridiculously huge!

I honestly cannot wait to see additional photos of this piece, and rumor is the pricing will not be as crazy as some people think.

They also posted a photo of the convention centre where the San Diego Comic Con is being held from the hotel… lucky bastards lol!  Sure wish I was going.

What is SDCC?

SDCC stands for the San Diego Comic Convention, or simply Comic Con for short… It is an annual multigenre fan convention founded as the Golden State Comic Book Convention and later the San Diego Comic Book Convention in 1970 by Shel Dorf and a group of San Diegans. It is traditionally a four-day event (Thursday through Sunday—though a four-hour preview night on Wednesday is open to guests pre-registered for all four days) held during the summer in San Diego, California, at the San Diego Convention Center. Comic-Con is both the name of the annual event and the common name of the organization.

Originally showcasing comic books, science fiction/fantasy and film/television (as was evident by the three circled figures appearing in Comic-Con’s original logo), and related popular arts, the convention has expanded over the years to include a larger range of pop culture elements, such as horror, anime, manga, animation, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels. The convention is the largest of its kind in the world, filling to capacity the San Diego Convention Center with over 125,000 attendees in 2007.

How does Predatorstuff.com cover this event?

Through a lack of sleep, a case of Redbull and ridiculous amounts of coffee and Gatorade, I am up all hours for the entire duration of the SDCC event schedule locked away in my office keeping watch over company websites of their coverage, twitter, RSS feeds, webcams, online chat, forums and staying in contact with friends in attendance. No question it doesn’t replace being in attendance, however I would like to think that by being able to cover so many resources that I am able to present to other non-attendees a good idea of what’s happening on the show floor and what the latest great products and news releases are, including photos and as much product information as possible. By tuning in to Predatorstuff.com during the 4 days of SDCC, you essentially have me working for you, dedicated to reporting everything I find that I think would interest you and fellow Sci-Fi and movie buff collectors.

1. Bookmark the Official Predatorstuff Coverage Page, and as you get a chance, check it for updates on the latest news and product release, which I will be updating as I find them. All announcements will be individually reported as articles on the main page, but if you’re worried about missing any of these announcements, I will also be consolidating them all on here so they’re easier to keep track of.

2. Do you use an RSS Reader? Follow our coverage via our RSS Feed!

3. Be sure to subscribe to our Newsletter! All newsletter susbscribers will receive IMMEDIATE notice of ANY cool product announcements and pre-orders and additional reports that I think warrant a heads up.
