Hello everyone! As promised, I have a huge list of new goodies to show you and as I was getting all the photos and material together, I noticed every single piece is actually a bust. So, I guess tonight is Pred Bust night! There’s more coming tomorrow too, but this is the majority of the new goodies I wanted to share with everyone. First, we’ll start with a new pre-painted piece released by a company called Imagine Nation Studios. It’s a stylized sculpt of a Predator 1 bust that includes the bust with working LEDs, the base and numbered plaque.

The statue is limited to 20 units and you can check out the official product page for this piece by clicking here. There only seems to be a few spots left, so you have to hurry if you want to grab one. Here’s the specs:
PREDATOR DIMENSIONS:
Weight : 12 kilos (20 Lbs)
Height with base : 26 inches
Width : 24 1/2 inches
Front to Back : 19 inches (tip of face to back part)
Again, if you would like to purchase one of these busts, you need to visit their site at imaginenationstudios.multiply.com.
If you want to see all the photos, you can check out the product page or just click the photo icon below to visit the gallery:
Next up is an AMAZING piece that I absolutely HAD to show you guys, but unfortunately this is NOT available for sale as a kit or a prepaint, it’s only a sculpt created as a case study by the amazingly talented Rick Fernandes. This is a gorgeous Predator 1 sculpt in 1:3 scale done in Plastiline, which is a super soft material that can not be baked or hardened, so it can’t be shipped or molded. Check out this awesomeness:

I was introduced to Rick’s sculpting talents a few months ago and I was blown away by the variety and highly detailed sculpts he does. I highly recommend you visit his blog to see his work at rickwerewolf.blogspot.com and just lose yourself for hours in the sculpts he’s got on there. BUT, fear not Pred fans, Rick has admitted to me that he has plans on creating a full size version of this sculpt, which he may offer castings of in very small numbers. If he does, you can bet I’ll be posting it as soon as it’s available! For now though, all we can do is drool at this sculpt by checking out the photos:
Now that I have you upset that you can’t get your hands on that beauty, I will now tell you about a new sculptor and company called Hell Resin and 2 sweet P1 sculpts that will soon be available for purchase. First up is a SWEET 1:3.5 scale Predator 1 bust with a super detailed head and completely separate dreads:

Measuring in at 11.5″ tall and 8.5″ wide, this is a beautiful sculpt by Laurence Yiu that comes with a ton of parts! The part breakdown is as follows: Skulls x 3, Necklace bones x 12, Chest armour pipe x 1, Short dreds x 8, Long dreds x 48, Teeth x 4, Cannon x 1, Cannon stand x 1, and Backpack armour x 1.
For the moment I am waiting for one of these to arrive so I can check it out in detail and from there I will be able to provide these to you guys, so keep an eye out for when this is available in the shop. For now, please check out the photos I sent from Hell Resin by clicking the icon below:
The other cool piece from them is a sweet Predator 1 closed-mouth head done in full 1:1 scale!

I don’t have the exact dimensions on this yet, but I also have one on the way to check out and it will be available soon for purchase. I really like this piece because it’s really one of the only Predator 1 heads you can find that is currently in production that is made of RESIN (Yes I know there’s Howard’s bust, but it’s hard to find originals and they are expensive) AND you can probably fit a bio-helmet on this because of the pose of the mouth!
So I will let you guys know when this is available in the shop and I’ll have more information on it soon, but you can check out all the pics once again by clicking the icon below:
And last, but certainly not least, I would like to introduce you to a VERY talented sculptor named Terry Norton and his AMAZING mixed Predator Bust! This is apparently his first Predator sculpt that he made for a friend and it features a mix of P1, P2 and SWS concept features to make a unique and VERY cool looking bust.

Terry first posted this beauty when he was in the middle of sculpting it over at the Lair, and we all immediately had to pick up our jaws off the floors, and then we begged him to make us some castings. Well a few months later, I contacted Terry just to see what happened and low and behold, HE CAST IT! I re-checked the original photos he posted just to make sure the sculpt was as awesome as I remember and I knew I had to have one.

Terry informed me that he does have a few castings available, so some of you can still get your hands on this gorgeous piece if you want one! There isn’t a specific scale for this bust, but it’s 14″ tall and and 12″ wide, so it’s about 1:1.5 scale or so. Due to the cost of this piece (Terry is in the UK and postage and materials are very expensive there compared to North America and to Terry’s credit, he’s cut the price of this piece down a lot to make it attainable for fellow collectors) I will not likely carry this in the shop, but you can purchase it direct from Terry yourself! Cost is around $225 or so and to give you an idea of shipping from the UK, it cost $70 for him to ship it to me in Canada using a 3-5 day service with tracking. Just contact me for Terry’s info if you want to purchase one or want more information.
And of course we have photos for your viewing pleasure:
So that’s about it for tonight guys! I still have a ton to report and I will be sending out another newsletter in a day or so with some awesome news, so keep an eye out for that and please be sure to post your comments by clicking the comment button below.
Thanks and take care!

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend and for those of you that are gearing up for snow, hope you are out enjoying the last weekends of T-Shirt weather! Let’s start off the work week with some awesome new products from Sideshow… Friday we saw some pretty awesome new goodies posted. Next up, Sideshow has posted the pre-order for their pretty awesome looking T-800 Premium Format statue! This is definitely one of the better Arnie likenesses Sideshow has released.
This is selling out super fast, the Exclusive edition sold out in a matter of hours, so if you want to grab the regular edition, you can order it or view all the photos by clicking here!
Here are some specs and info on the piece:

Box Size: 24.00″ H x 11.50″ W x 11.50″ L
The T-800 Premium Format figure is a stunning 1:4 scale museum quality piece. Grenade launcher in hand, the Terminator stands 22 inches tall atop the display base. Each piece is cast in high-quality polystone, then hand-painted and hand-finished. The figure is dressed in an amazing miniature replica of the costume constructed of real fabrics, and the base is individually hand-numbered for authenticity. This stunning figure is the ultimate representation of T-800, an outstanding addition to any collection.
The last piece that I thought looked pretty badass is the new Venom Legendary Scale Bust, and again, this thing is selling like crazy!
It’s not as HUGE as the full size bust released quite awhile ago, but the detail is simply amazing and if the paint is as good as the prototype, WOW! You can pre-order this bust or see more photos of it by clicking here. Here’s more info on the piece from Sideshow:

Also, you guys may have read my review of the Sideshow Predator 1 Diorama Exclusive Edition that I posted here a couple of weeks ago. Well, if you missed out on this awesome sold-out piece, the statue used in the review has been re-boxed and is available in the shop! I only have 1 available and you can buy it by clicking here! The asking price covers the cost of the statue and the taxes, duty and brokerage I had to pay to get it here. I am not asking a penny more than what it cost me!
That’s about it for now guys, more coming soon though as always!

In today’s review, I’m going to give you a closer look at a fairly new kit sculpted by Narin and produced by Monsterz.net called the Rogue Hunter! It’s a gorgeous dynamic kit with a huge amount of detail and quite big. Check it out!
This just another example of how insanely cool Narin’s sculpts are, and for so many reasons. Not only are his kits so original in concept, but the level of detail he squeezes in to every minute part of each kit is nothing short of unbelievable. Absolutely everything on this kit has been textured and detailed with maximum Narin goodness! Cast in solid resin, this badboy weighs in at 5lbs and measures just over 15 inches and requires about 12″ of display depth! The kit includes the dragon-like skull base and his massive battle-axe.
As usual, the sample piece was painted by my good friend mister Joe Dunaway from ModelZone.com and he drilled this kit out of the park with this build-up! Bear in mind the leather straps and knife on this buildup are custom bits that Joe added and are not included with the kit. You know Joe, he’s always got to pimp out the kits he builds! Check out the detailing on the axe:
Personally, I love the armor on this one, it’s extremely complex and well detailed, it reminds me of the Death Warrior armor style. The armor has many layers and textures, so you can really go nuts with the paint like Joe did and create some amazing effects. I also love the pose on this one, it’s pretty daring because sometimes trying to go super dynamic on a pose can backfire but this just looks awesome. It was a lot of fun to photograph because it looks cool from so many angles and there’s tons of awesome detailed areas you can shoot close-ups.
As usual, this is another amazing Narin kit and should be part of anyone’s Narin collection! It’s hard to go wrong with Narin. Joe also reported fantastic clean castings that assembled very easily and required very little prep work. If you would like to pick up this kit, you can order in our shop by clicking here or you can click the photo icon below to see all the photos (The photos with the white background are mine):
Thanks for the amazing paint-up Joe and I hope you guys enjoyed the little review and pics! Coming up next is Nightmare Collectibles’ Bug Killer!
Take care,
Dan

We’ve been waiting for months for the HIGHLY anticipated Sideshow Collectibles full-size Wolf Predator bust, a replica of the main Predator character from AvP:Requiem, and at last he has arrived! Today we pop him under the lights and break it down for you.
First off, as you may expect the box is absolutely HUMONGOUS and weighs over 50 pounds. The FedEx guy didn’t look too happy to be hauling that sucker up my steps. The packaging is the usual bit with the plain outer shipping box with a retail box inside. The retail box is also a plain brown box with some Wolf artwork stuck on one side. Inside we get the foam shell, and each side has a little compartment you open to pull out the dreads. You can already see the Wolf’s jaws sticking out! You then remove the top foam cover and you can see the Wolf in all his glory with more dreads on either side of him. I then lifted out the bust and found that the base is actually already glued/attached to the bust itself, it’s not two pieces. The bust is also surprisingly light, kind of making you wonder why the box weighs so much. So I popped that on the floor and started taking out the dreads.
Each dread is packaged in it’s own plastic sleeve and they almost feel gooey! Once out of the sleeve, the flexible dreads are still moist with oils from the casting and painting process and have that sweet “New Toy” smell to them. The dreads are numbered from 1 to 6, with 1 being the small dreads and 6 being the biggest. You can see the number is cast right in to the flat, fat end of the dread. And sticking out of each dread on the same side is the end of a threaded bolt. So all you do is look in each hole on the bust and you’ll find a number on the inside rim. Simply match the numbers on the dreads and push each one in… the threads will stop the dreads from falling out. Some go in very easily, a couple you might have to push a bit to get it in all the way. Once you’re done, your bust is ready to rock!

At this point I picked it up to put it in the photo booth, and THAT’S where you get the surprise… the dreads weigh a ton, and once they are all attached to the bust, the thing goes from 25lbs to 50lbs! Some of the dreads are also somewhat bent, but this will straighten out over time as they hang, or you can use a hair dryer to heat them up a bit and straighten them. Personally I’d rather let gravity do the work, just in case the heat does funny stuff to the dreads. The dreads appear to be some kind of foam cast dreads with some kind of rubber coating. They’re super smooth and oily, but look awesome! The dread rings are cast right in to the dreads, they are not separate pieces.
So, once I have it all assembled and up on the stand with the studio lights on, I can get a good luck at this and it’s VERY impressive in person. The bust is about the same size as the Sideshow Predator 1 bust, but this one taller due to the base. The paint job is OK for a pre-paint but I don’t feel it looks very close to the the prototype photos on Sideshow’s site, which has always impressed me with their big ticket Predator items so far. The P1 bust and the P1 Maquette both have production pieces that look very close to the prototype photos, but the Wolf seems to lack the paint details we see in their promotional photos. The main difference between the prototype photos and the real thing is there is no extra green detailing on the scars on the production piece. I really only have 2 major complaints with the paint job and that’s the scar tissue on the side of the face, and the the mouth.

I just feel that the scarring on the side of the face should be a different color than the rest of the skin and I think more attention to detail would have been good here. The sculpt is dead on gorgeous like the original prop, but the scarring could have used better paint detail. As for the veins in the mouth, it’s as though it was the last thing to do on the bust and they just wanted to get it over it. The P1 bust from Sideshow has awesome veins on the mouth, with layered effects. On the Wolf, they basically painted the entire mouth, then just with with a pinkish grey paint and just made lightning bolt patterns with a fine brush and that was it. It looks very sloppy and not realistic at all. They should have used purples and blues, then built up the inner mouth colors, then added a few more veins again for a realistic layered effect. I also think they overdid it with the pink in the mouth… So basically, the veins suck and it’s a tad too pinkish overall. Other than that, it looks pretty damn cool!
The sculpt is gorgeous and straight from the ADI molds… I actually saw the original casting ADI sent to Sideshow, so this sculpt is dead on. I have to admit I would have preferred static resin dreads though in a cool pose rather that these rubber foam ones, but it still looks great! I am SO glad Sideshow fixed the posing of the dreads. The quills look great too, and they are flexible as though made from a similar material as Bake and Blend, which is a type of clay medium used by guys that make mask quills for costumes. The material is very tough and flexible, which helps avoid damage in shipping and handling.
I also noticed a lot of people were concerned about painted eyes vs acrylic eyes… meaning were the eyes painted on the bust, or did they insert fake acrylic eyeballs in to the bust. I’m happy to report they used the superior method, acrylic eyes, and they look awesome!
So overall, I am EXTREMELY happy with this purchase and is definitely a keeper in my collection. I’m not 100% happy with the paint, I felt they did a better job on the Predator 1 bust, but this is still a MUST HAVE for Predator fans. Just make sure you have a sturdy table to put it on!
I took a TON of photos of this badboy, so please check it all out by clicking on the photo icon below:
In addition to the photos, I also did a little mini review and posted it on Youtube. Basically let’s you see how this looks and I share a few thoughts on it. You can watch it below:
So that’s it guys! Would love to hear your comments on this, so please click the comment icon below and tell me what you think of the review and/or this piece! If you would like to purchase this bust, they are in-stock at Sideshow, so click here to purchase one!

A month or two ago I received a couple of AWESOME new build-ups from Joe Dunaway of a fullscale Rambo style Gizmo and Mohawk Mogwai from Narin’s Gremlins 2 series of sculpts. Tonight I finally had a chance to break out the camera gear and have some fun!

This is supposed to be a series of 5 sculpts from the Gremlins 2 movie, featuring 5 key Mogwai characters, but so far Narin has only issued 2 of the 5 sculpts. Not sure if we’ll see the other 3, but for now we get these two awesome fellas! They are fullscale sculpts and are around a foot tall and quite heavy. My favorite of the two is probably Mohawk, due to the entire attitude of the pose and Joe’s buildup is just gorgeous. I love the way he did the eyes! I had a lot of fun photographing this in my daughter’s playroom in front of her barbie dollhouse.

The kit comes in 2 parts, the head and the body, so it’s fairly simple to assemble and prep for painting. Joe advised me that his kit had numerous pinholes that needed filling and I have since addressed this concern with the producer, but other than that assembly was a snap. I just can not get over how life-like the sculpt and paint application is… the combination of a Narin sculpt and a Dunaway paint job is truly the ultimate combination and you end up with a museum quality piece.
We currently have this piece available in our shop and it’s in-stock, you can click here to purchase Mohawk.
Next up is the very cool Rambo style Gizmo, complete with paperclip bow and flaming pencil arrow!

Gizmo is just as impressive with this iconic pose from the film, and you can either built this with the resin cast pencil, use your own real pencil, the scale is dead on. The liquid paper bottle is sculpted with the flames, so most artists choose to steam off a label from a real bottle and glue it on, which is what Joe did. Again, this piece is SUPER life-like, especially the eyes and the mottling Joe applied to the fur. When my daughter first saw this, she thought it was real!
The part breakdown for this guy includes the head, body, hands, pencil and bottle, paperclip and string. Due to elastic bands rotting in storage, you will need to supply your own for this build-up.
In fact, this piece is so lifelike, especially when painted right, that a Clubhouse forum member recently posted photos of his buildup that won him GOLD at an IPMS Event AND it won Best Figure! (Congrats Dethstryker, your build-up was amazing!)
Gizmo is also available and in-stock in our shop! You can click here for all the order info.

Bottom line on this one folks, if you are a Gremlins fan, you can’t beat these sculpts, especially for the price. I personally LOVED Gremlins and HAD to have these as a tribute in my collection.
And of course, I took a TON of pics! I had some fun with playroom photos as well as some nice booth photos, so please click the photo icon below to visit the gallery:
So a HUGE thank you to Joe Dunaway who did an AMAZING job on these! Now to bug Narin to do the other 3 sculpts so I can complete my invasion of Mogwai! Would love to hear what you guys think of the pics and the kits, please click the comment button below to share your thoughts!
Next review coming next week… The Sideshow FULLSCALE Wolf Bust! Aaaaaaand a new website layout is on the way!
Enjoy,
