Predatorstuff Introduces the Jack the Ripper Kit by Al DeGregorio!
August 6th, 2009
Hey folks! Something a little different to show you guys today, but still awesome and sinister, just the way I like it. My good friend and KitBuilder’s writer Al DeGregorio pulled a fast one on everyone and surprised us with his first ever kit release! It’s an AMAZING Jack the Ripper kit, sculpted by Robert Blair and re-tooled by Tom Bonaldi Of Brothers in Resin. Check out all the details below!

He emerges from out of the fog…sounds of footsteps clicking loudly and menacingly on cobble stone alleys…visions of a fiend with evil eyes and thin fingers grasping a medical bag. He kills violently and quickly, and then disappears without a trace. In the East Ends White Chapel District, a string of prostitutes were butchered. The crime scenes were a gory tableau. The brutalized bodies, with organs removed, were perversions of the human form. The signature of a letter that arrived at the Metropolitan Police Station during the murders gave this monster a name…Jack the Ripper! Then for no apparent reason, he satisfies his blood lust with ever-increasing ferocity, culminating in the near destruction of his final victim, and then he vanishes from the scene…forever!
Jack the Ripper is a large 1/6 scale solid resin kit cast in 16 parts, with Jack standing at 13.5” tall and the base lamp post at 18.5" tall. This is a very heavy kit, weighing in at 4lbs of solid resin loving (or terrorizing in this case). All orders will be cast and shipped through Brothers in Resin. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery. Casting and shipping will start on or after August 17th. There will be a review of the kit by Jim Capone and an Article in the near future of kit Builders done by Al himself.
This kit has been in the making since November, 2008. Al said it was a long and tough road, but figures it’s well worth it now that he’s out and ready for casting. This is an original kit and Al’s first production piece ever (congrats Al!) and is very happy with the work of Robert Blair and re-tooling by Tom Bonaldi of B.I.R. Tom and Kenny at Brothers in Resin who sold 100 licensed Frank Frazetta Death Dealers to happy resin heads all over the country, so you know the castings on this are going to ROCK!
If you would like to order this kit or check out more photos, please check out the product page right in our shop by clicking HERE! Congratulations Al, he’s an AWESOME kit and Jack looks like pure evil, the face is kickass and I am honored to be able to sell this through the Predatorstuff shop! If you guys want to leave some feedback on this kit, feel free to click the comment button below and use the form to post your thoughts. I know Al reads this site, so you can bet he’ll see your posts.
Enjoy,
Dan

Damn, that is one “killer” looking kit!
Congrats to my buddy Al on his first kit release.
I love the evil expression on ole saucy Jack’s face and the pose is just right. Can’t wait to paint him. He’s going to look good placed stare’in at all my girl kit figures.

Received kit couple of days ago, that was some fast shipping. Nice casting on the pieces btw.
Thanks Chris…lol =)
And thank you Michael for the support on this kit.
Glad you like it!
Al
Awesome Mike, glad you like the kit and the service. Be sure to show off your final build!
Not a very interesting looking kit.I`m pretty sure the Ripper didn`t dress up & wear a top hat. lol
I’m afraid you’re mistaken Brian, that is exactly how men dressed in that time period in Europe, top hats were extremely popular. Do an image search on google for jack the ripper and pretty much every image depicts him wearing a similar outfit, including the hat
Hey guys, actually both of you are right. Having worked in law enforcement for 20 years, I’ve always had a keen interest in serial killers and read probably every non-fiction book written on Jack the Ripper and others. While men in the period did dress as depicted in this kit and alot of the artwork during that period depicted him that way as they believed him to have medical knowledge. In all actuality though, he would have to had dressed like all the other poor folks who lived in that area such as a fisherman/dockhand etc. to blend in and not be noticeable and engage in his killing endeveors. Having said that though, this is the classic image and the one that most folks envision and the one that I like. So there! (lol) Just my 2cents on criminal profiling.
Regards- M.B.
Hi Mike,
I understand that view, but I think the story with Jack was that he was a man of high station, so they think he went out in the night dressed to the nines so to speak. He only went in the poor areas to do his shopping and I guess security wasn’t that great in the poor areas of London and blending wasn’t really critical. Then again, my research in to Jack the Ripper doesn’t extend much farther than “From Hell” LOL!
Faken, “From Hell” a really good cinema version. For a good read check out one of the more recent writtings (if you’re interested) by Patricia Cornwell in 2002 titled- Portrait of a Killer:J.T.R, Case Closed. Of course it never will be.
Cool, thanks for the recommendation! I’m a big reader and always looking for new books to check out. Right now I’m on a Jack Reacher kick… the Reachers series by Lee Child are awesome! lol!
