AvP Chopper Predator Bio Helmet and AWESOME Millennium Falcon Scaled Model Up for Pre-Order!
July 17th, 2009
Hi all! Before I post my next review, I wanted to share a couple of awesome new pre-orders that went up last night at Sideshow Collectibles that I think you guys and gals will dig. Check them out…
Sideshow is proud to partner with Amalgamated Dynamics Inc (ADI) to bring you the Alien vs. Predator Prop Replica line, featuring some of the most advanced weaponry and armor ever conceived for the Predator arsenal. Each prop replica is an exact 1:1 reproduction of the original screen used prop, as created by ADI. The Chopper Predator Mask Prop Replica is cast in fiberglass and features a light-up targeting feature. Each piece is individually painted, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. The mask is complete with a stand that can be displayed on your desktop or mounted on your wall.

Looks like they went with painted lenses again though, which has become something of a joke at this point… if you get one of these and want to upgrade the lenses on it, be sure to check out my Celtic Lens tutorial on how to do it, although I will likely post a new template for this helmet once they ship in 1st Qtr 2010, so keep an eye out for that. Check out all the photos, info or place a Pre-Order by clicking HERE on the Sideshow Product Page for the Chopper!
OK so maybe I’m a bit of a fanboy, but I definitely got a nergasm when I first saw this, it looks AWESOME!

This outstanding Millennium Falcon Scaled Model is the perfect addition to any collection.

And yet again Sideshow screw us over with painted lenses….. is anyone suprised anymore? Pathetic! I for one am done buying anymore of these until sideshow do the decent thing and listen to the customers that have been handing over hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for these Pieces of junk! In fairness, If you ignore the visor, the chopper bio looks really nice so why did they go and spoil it again even after all the complaints about the scar and celtic?!?
Wake up Sideshow, stop blaming ADI and fix the dam lenses!!!!!
Nice falcon though, shame about the price…..
If you keep buying them, there is no incentive for Sideshow to change. You can complain all you want (even directly to Sideshow), but if you buy, you condone. As a matter of fact, they will likely start to make them even more cheaply because they know you will still buy them, and just fix them on your own dime. Not to mention that you are altering the item. If you ever decide to sell it, it isn’t original anymore.
These are corporate entities. They don’t care whether or not you are satisfied. They only care whether or not you are buying.
They’ll sell out one way or another, so if you don’t complain AND don’t buy, they have no way of knowing that you were a potential customer that was last. My recommendation would be to not buy it AND let them know why you didn’t buy it.
And I don’t buy my collectibles to sell so I don’t mind, plus the mods I made are non permanent
Hot glue comes off without damaging the paint, so it’s simple to take off the old lenses
