Yeah, so I kind of crapped my pants last night when I caught the latest edition of Sideshow TV featuring Tom Woodruff and Alec Gillis from ADI presenting some upcoming goodies they are working on with ADI and the first thing they trotted out is a HUUUUUGE life-size bust of the Predalien from AVPR! I think my wallet puckered up a bit…

Umm yeah, so that’s just a little bit FRIGGIN AWESOME!!! I’ve actually exchanged a few emails with Tom in the past and judging by that and his comment in the video about the weight of his mask, he’s clearly been traumatized from wearing that suit in the wonderful freezing climate of Vancouver lol! It’s all good Tom, it was worth it!

No details at all on when this will be announced or anything, but I am seriously scared of how much this beast is going to cost, and after the Wolf bust and more recent projects like Iron Man Bust, will Sideshow manufacturing be able to pull off this paint job? Hopefully this doesn’t turn out to be a big bucket of suck… gotta keep the faith! Either way, this will surely decorate my studio at some point and you can bet we’ll have a review up ASAP!

Once I got over the initial shock of that kick ass piece, the video moves on to show some other awesome pieces, including the AvP Ceremonial Dagger which we will FINALLY see completed. I remember Master Replicas was supposed to issue this a couple of years ago but it simply never appeared, so it’s cool to see Sideshow has taken over this project.

We also get a look at all the bio helmets from AVP and AVPR, which we’ve already seen, and a sneak peek at a new concept Maquette from ADI that gives us another look at one of the ideas the designers were throwing around of the Hybrid Predalien.

This piece is in fact a sculpted Maquette made by Greg Figiel, which is based off artwork by Michael Broom, and THAT artwork was inspired by early concept drawings from Farzad Varahramyan.

The video also shows you just how MASSIVE that queen face hugger piece is… you get to see it sitting next to Tom and you suddenly realize “DAAAAAMN!” it’s HUGE! (That’s what she said ho ho ho).

But now here comes the fun part.. is this all just a big April Fool’s joke, or is this for real? I guess we’ll have to stay tuned for more info on these pieces and hopefully they’re not just pulling our chains!
