Hey all! This is just a heads up that the AVPR Diorama by Hot Toys has been posted up for pre-order over at Sideshow! Click here for more details or to place an order.
This is the second statue Hot Toys has created in the Masterpiece Series line of collectibles, with the first one being the Elder on Throne statue. Not sure if you caught my review of the Elder piece, but I was WAY less than impressed with the first rendition, so hopefully they can redeem themselves on this one. As far as I’m concerned, until they get rid of using plastic, this is nothing but a glorified McFarlane toy without any articulation.
This new entry features the Hybrid Predalien jumping to the attack on the Wolf Predator, and the statue looks pretty cool with some nice dynamic poses and beautiful paint on the prototype photos. I sincerely hope that the final production piece will be close to the sample. Here’s the write up on the piece from Sideshow:

Sadly I think I’m gonna pass on this one. I was REALLY disapointed with the Elder in Throne dio. I cant beleave they’d charge the same price for a hunk of undetailed plastic as they would for one of there awsome detailed 12′ preds. The Elder in Throne was a waste of $109 bux and I dont want this AVPR dio to be a waste of $162 bux (more expensive the the there upcoming 12′ Wolf). I’d buy this for no more then $30 bux IMO. Hopefully Narin or somone will make a cool kit based on a scene like this from the movie.
