Time to Get Eradicated! PredatorStuff.com Reviews Narin’s Eradicate Predator Kit
November 5th, 2007
Welcome to another kit review where we give bring you the goods on the latest and greatest Predator kits and whether they’re worth your cold hard cash. Today I’m really excited to review one of my absolute favorite kits Narin has ever done: The Eradicate Predator kit!

This amazing kit, featuring a Predator with a freshly killed Alien Queen head slung under his arm, was painted by my favorite artist, mister Joe Dunaway and as always, photography by yours truly for this review. This is a semi cold cast statue in Narin’s trademark 1:5 scale that is really a middle ground between 1:6 and 1:5 scales, giving you a gorgeous kit with nice size and insane details. There’s a reason why Narin’s work is so popular, and it’s because above and beyond his originality, he achieves a level of detail that remains more or less unmatched by other Predator sculptors. In fact, the only person I know that can touch Narin’s skill level is S. Hayes, and Narin is almost 1/3 his age!
The first thing you realize when you first get this raw kit in your hands is that you’re pretty much getting two kits. The Queen head is MASSIVE and pretty much the same size as the Predator! The kit includes the Predator body, the Queen head, which has both forearms of the pred cast in the same part, the Queen’s severed arm and a base. The base is fairly plain compared to the usual Narin staple… it has sort of a dirt/rocky texture to it with some alien skull bones sort of embedded in the dirt, just barely sticking out.
The Predator itself has AMAZING details, including a very detailed face and his body is covered in battle scars, leaving no doubt our hunter is not someone you want to piss off. With the right paint job, the details are amplified to make this one of Narin’s best:

This level of detail is apparent throughout the entire sculpt… even his belt and waist is covered in tiny beads, knives, armor decorations and more… it’s AMAZING! Joe’s steady hand and attention to detail really brought these details alive, and even under a super close macro lens, the paint application is tight and amazing. Be sure to check out the gallery for all the pics!
Speaking of Joe, this guy is a SLAVE to customization… he can’t just leave a sculpt alone, he always adds his own touches and you have to love the guy for it. In this case, Joe went all out and actually cast the teeth in CLEAR RESIN! Yep, the guy dremeled out the regular resin teeth and put in a set he molded and cast himself with the clear. The effect is AMAZING and spot on with the movie accurate clear teeth. Check it out:

Overall, you can’t ask for much better than this in every facet… sculpt, detail, pose, scale and paint, all perfectly blended together in one hell of a piece for your display case! Because of the size of this piece and the fact that it’s basically like buying two kits in terms of how much resin there is, it’s a bit more expensive than his other kits, but it’s worth every nickel! It honestly doesn’t get much better than this!
If you would like to add this piece to your kit collection, I have 2 kits in stock (There’s 2 left as I wrote this anyhow) and ready for your build-up lovin in our shop at http://www.predatorstuff.com/shop/item_3/ I want to thank Joe Dunaway for the incredible build-up as usual, and you can check out his portfolio and get build-up quotes from him at www.modelzone.com.
