Cinemaquette Give Us a Taste of Predator Statue Goodness at Toyfair 2007!

Well it’s about DAMN time! Cinemaquette/Toynami have finally give us a glimpse of the Predator 1:3 statue that collectors have been waiting over 2 years for! They have a sample sculpt of what appears to be the statue’s head on display at this year’s Toyfair in New York.

Right off the bat, the swinging dreads would suggest some kind of spinning around pose, sort of like the rather unpopular CM alien they did. I also think the dreads are too thin or maybe they have them spread out too thin on the head…. or maybe a combination of each. Either way, something looks a bit off, but I guess we’ll see what the end product looks like. We have the right to be picky after all, this statue will clock in at around the $2000 mark and be over 3′ tall!
Cinemaquette have their work cut out for them if they want to beat out Sideshow on their maquette, that’s for sure. I guess we’ll see towards the fall when they should be announcing the sale of the statue and show us some complete pics!
