Flamed Porsche – Paul Francis is Back with his Exciting Porsche Helmet Designs!

February 6th, 2007

For those of you that have been collection Predator goodies for awhile, especially full size props, then you are probably already familiar with the Porsche version of the P1 Bio Helmet, sculpted by Paul Francis. It was sculpted several years ago and is considered one of the most accurate and most balanced fan-made Predator 1 helmet replica. Paul faded into the background a bit, but he recently joined back up on the Lair to let us know he was offering his Porsche again, and he was offering up a new bio he painted up as an experiment in classic flame painting. He called it the Flamed Bio.

Paul Francis Flamed Bio

Now I am a classic hotrod guy and my stomach immediately had butterflies when I saw this completely, granted unorthodox, BADASS paint application. Sure it’s really off the wall, but having this weathered down hotrod flamed bio looked AMAZING to me! I didn’t even give it a second thought, I bought it on the spot.

When it arrived at my house, the first thing to note was how well Paul wrapped this up. First off, it was in a HUGE box stuffed with packing peanuts and the bio itself was wrapped up in multiple layers of oversize bubble wrap. No joke, this packing job could have survived a nuclear box landing on top of it. I then unwrap this bio and my jaw literally hit the floor… seriously I was as excited about this as the day I first set eyes on my Sideshow 1:1 scale bust. The paint job weather is so realistic and adds so much depth to the sculpt, it’s absolutely amazing. The cast itself was thick and heavy with crisp lines and details and he even signed and dated the inside. This beauty was a piece of art, and cost less than some of my plain bios!

Whether you think this paint job is a bit too over-the-top, you can’t deny just how much detail and quality there is in this piece, and Paul is always available for commissioned work or you can get raw copies of the bio. Click the icon below for more pics of this GORGEOUS bio:

Unfortunately this bio has been recast quite a bit, so many people have really worthless castings of this bio. Make no mistake, there is a huge difference between an original Porsche and a half-assed recast. Not only that, but Paul’s prices are very reasonable, so you have no reason to not own an original. So now, how do you get one? First off, Paul deals with both P1 and P2 style masks. Here’s the pricing breakdown:

Raw Mask: $125
Classic P1 Paint Job with your choice of lense styles: $225 shipped (shipping in the US included – international extra)
Custom Paint Jobs: Custom paint applications like this Flamed Bio start at $300. It all depends on what level of detail you need and any alterations to the base sculpt.

Please note that prices could change without notice.

To order, contact Paul directly at sales@lucasfrancisstudio.com or you can visit his site and view his portfolio at www.lucasfrancisstudio.com. When you do contact him, please be sure to tell him that Dan from Predatorstuff.com sent you so that he knows to give you the low advertised prices.

Enjoy!
Dan
