Jensen/Pirkle Release the Highly Anticipated UBBER AvP Cannon!
February 5th, 2007
Remember the last review I did of the Pirkleations AvP High Caliber Cannon? I specifically warned you all to keep an eye on the kitchen of Dave Pirkle and Gary Jensen because they have some AWESOME goodies constantly on the burner and you have to be quick to get in on the goods before it sells out. Well boys and girls, it’s happened again and they’ve pulled out all the stops on this one! Dave Pirkle and Gary Jensen team up again to bring you their AvP Ubber Cannon!

First off, nothing prepared me for just how massive this cannon is… you can fit the first version INSIDE this beast! Overall, the detailing is slightly more crisp on this new cannon, but it was already fantastic in the first place so there wasn’t really much room for improvement. The Cannon is just over 14″ long and is overall much thicker and wider than the original version, but weighs in at under 2lbs due to the hollow rotocasting! That’s great news for anyone looking to make this part of their suit, but wait, it gets better! You can remove the side face plate of the rounded plasma generator section to reveal a hollow compartment for servos and electronics. How cool is that? But wait, there’s more to this… the cannon can also be shipped with a hollowed laser section, allowing you to INSTALL LASERS or LEDs into the sight! Sorry, but that’s completely bad-ass! Dave sent me his very first casting, so this particular unit doesn’t have lasers installed, but you can bet your butt that I’ll be posting pictures as soon as I get a laser unit.

It doesn’t end there! Get this… the entire pump section on the barrel is set on a groove in the cannon, allowing the complete barrel to slide back and forth into ready and recoiled positions. Be sure to check out the gallery photos for pics of the unit in the two positions.
At this point, I can honestly say that absolutely no one has anything available that comes even remotely close to this AvP cannon in terms of accuracy, detail and design. Even the paint job is top notch with super-realistic weathering! The beauty with this piece, like everything else Pirk makes, is that it’s light enough to be worn on a costume, but it’s detailed and accurate enough to be part of a high end display. Top that off with the fact that you don’t have to spend $500 for one, and you honestly can’t ask for better than this.
Want to score one for yourself? Contact Dave directly at pirkle-ations@comcast.net and make sure you tell him you found out about the sale from Predatorstuff.com to get the usual site discount.
Congratulations again to Dave and Gary on another amazing piece, you guys are so talented and I can’t wait to see your next piece! (Rumor is it’s an AvP style ceremonial dagger *cough*)

I hope you guys enjoyed this review and I seriously urge you to grab this cannon before it’s no longer available. Dave only runs a super limited run of casts, so don’t be caught without your Ubber
I’d also like to give everyone a heads up that I have TONS of reviews coming up for some statues and props, so check back often for a lot of new juicy updates this week!
Thanks,
Dan
