One of the more elusive Predator helmets for me to find out there for my personal collection WAS the Predator 2 bio. That duck billed unique design can be found all over eBay, but they either looked terrible, had garbage paint applications or just really soft details. The P2 bio is NOT supposed to have a mirror finish to it folks! So for a long time, the P2 was a long standing hole in my prop collection until BioHunter offered this little gem to me:
Now I’m not sure if this is cast from the original hero mold or if it’s even a generation based casting, but this thing is dead on, and the detailing is crisp and stands out beautifully. And in true BioHunter fashion, the paint job is top notch, as well as the thick solid casting of the helmet itself. All you need to do is add a bit of Patina weathering and you could tell people you stole this right off the set. Purchased one of these from BioH about a year or so ago. If its not a copy from the original than I don’t know what is. Caste in a thin deep purple/black fiber filled urethane resin with a rigid yet mild flex makes for a perfect combination. I will point out..Underneath the chin appears to have some form of touch up work but you can still see where the details once were. That and the surface on and around the crown contains hair line spider webbing which appears to be from a repaired rubber mold. I think he used to caste these in fiberglass. There are some positive air bubbles within the indented designs and reminiscence of putty left on some surface areas that can be easily removed. Please note that I am only mentioning this because I have painstakingly scrutinized this casting for many an hour. Eight out of ten predator fans would not know the difference. BioHunter was a pleasure dealing with and would buy more of his stuff. This remains my favorite bio helmet of them all.
