Indiana Jones Invades Predator Stuff and a Kick Butt P2 Cannon has Arrived!
September 28th, 2006
Good morning everyone, I hope all is well out there in the land of collector hardships. Today I would like to go a bit beyond the realm of Predators for a minute and introduce an outstanding piece by a very talented artist, and also show you some Predator goodness now that I finally found a Predator 2 style plasma cannon. The first thing I would like to point out is that I do have some items in my collection that pay tribute to some of my favorite movies, and not just Predators… Terminator, Star Wars and Robocop are just a few examples of kits that I have to add some variety to my collection. Well, a few months ago I was checking out photos of Wonderfest 2006 and my jaw dropped when I saw this OUTSTANDING sculpt of Indiana Jones by Jeff Camp. I knew I had to have it, and here’s my review!

This insanely beautiful piece that hits the likeness of Harrison Ford dead on is officially called “Indy with Idol” and features a solid resin bust in 1:4 scale, which of course includes the gold idol from Raiders of the Lost Ark. This particular kit comes in 3 pieces: The main bust, his fedora, and the idol. It’s also interesting to note that this is a limited run of 50 pieces (I own #20). The featured piece in this review is a wonderful sculpt and an extremely clean cast from what I can tell, and I can’t say enough just how perfect the likeness is of Indiana. I also had Jeff apply the pigment treatment and his paint up is nothing short of brilliant and brought the sculpt to life.
The other really neat part of this piece is the very cool goodies Jeff packs along with it, especially a fancy certificate of authenticity signed by Jeff and a promo card for the product. I haven’t photographed or shown the certificate so that recasters can’t dupe these documents, but each genuine piece includes a set or papers. If you have no certificate with yours, it’s not the real deal. So, without further rambling, click the photo icon below for the full set of photos!

Predator 2 Cannon
A few people know that I have been looking for an accurate Predator 2 style cannon for a long time, and one day while I was mucking around on eBay, I stumbled upon one of the best looking canon replicas I have ever seen! It was love at first sight and I went with the BIN right then and there.

This kick ass canon was sculpted and painted by Wesley Peck and is the second generation sculpt of this full scale cannon. In fact, he redid the sculpt because of the movie prop photos found right here on Predatorstuff.com! The cannon is very sturdy and is very accurately sculpted. The paint application is dead on and it’s exactly the look I wanted when I was shopping for this. The secret bonus of this piece? The top pops right off to show a hidden compartment for any electronics and/or servos you want to stick inside! Now how cool is that? You can scope out the photos of this beauty I snapped last night by clicking the icon below:
If you’ve been looking for a P2 cannon that is both costume ready AND detailed enough for your display case, look no further than this awesome cannon! You can get more details and ordering information at www.emeralddragonstudio.com.
